Trauma & PTSD Counseling
Gentle, patient support at your pace, after the hard things that happened to you.
How trauma can stay with you
Trauma can follow a single frightening event, or many painful experiences over time. Long afterward, you might notice:
- Memories or nightmares that come back when you don’t expect them
- Feeling jumpy, on guard, or numb
- Avoiding places, people or reminders
- Shame or self-blame that won’t lift
- A hard time trusting others
If you have experienced abuse
Whatever happened, and whenever it happened, it was not your fault. You can talk about it when you’re ready, and only as much as you choose.
If you are not safe right now, call 911. The National Domestic Violence Hotline is available any time at 1-800-799-7233.
How we work together
You set the pace. We start by helping you feel safer and steadier in the present, and I won’t press you for details. Over time, we work toward practical goals that matter to you.
Faith, if you want it
My counseling is Christ-centered. If you’d like, scripture and prayer can be part of our sessions, alongside practical tools for change. If you’re not a Christian, or not sure what you believe, you’re welcome here just the same. You decide how much faith is part of your counseling.
How to get started
Call me at 704-535-2224 for a free 15-minute phone consultation, or email darylehineslpc@gmail.com. We’ll talk briefly about what’s going on and whether I’m the right fit for you. There are no forms to fill out online.
Sessions are 50 minutes, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, in person at my office in Mint Hill or by telehealth if you live in North Carolina. The fee is $140 per session, and I provide superbills for insurance. See fees and insurance.
