Child, Teen & Parenting Counseling

Caring support for children ages 10 and up, teens and parents, for a calmer, closer home.

Who I see

I counsel children ages 10 and up, teens and parents. Sometimes I meet with a child or teen, sometimes with a parent, and sometimes with the family together, whatever fits what is going on at home. Step-parents and grandparents are welcome too.

When families reach out

  • A child or teen who is anxious, sad, angry or struggling
  • Constant conflict with a child or teenager
  • Parents who don’t agree on rules or discipline
  • Co-parenting after a divorce
  • Blending two families into one
  • Grandparents helping to raise grandchildren

How counseling can help

With children and teens, I listen, help them put feelings into words, and work with them on practical ways to handle what is hard. With parents, we focus on what is happening at home, what you can choose and change, and practical ways to stay connected to your children while still setting limits. My work is grounded in Dr. William Glasser’s Choice Theory, which puts relationships at the center.

I also work with blended and step families, grandparents, and people who are remarrying. If parenting stress is straining your marriage, couples counseling may help too.

Faith, if you want it

My counseling is Christ-centered. If you’d like, scripture and prayer can be part of our sessions, alongside practical tools for change. If you’re not a Christian, or not sure what you believe, you’re welcome here just the same. You decide how much faith is part of your counseling.
