Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about cost, insurance, telehealth and what counseling with me is like.

Do I have to be a Christian to see you?

No. My counseling is Christ-centered, and welcoming to everyone. We’ll talk together about whether and how you’d like faith to be part of our work.

What does Christian counseling with you look like?

It’s licensed, professional counseling. If you’d like, scripture and prayer can be part of our sessions, along with practical tools for change. You decide how much faith is part of your counseling. More about Christian counseling.

What does a session cost?

$140 per 50-minute session, the same for individuals and couples. You can also use your HSA or FSA.

Do you take insurance?

I’m an out-of-network provider. I provide superbills so you can file with your insurance for possible reimbursement. Check with your plan about out-of-network benefits. You can also pay with your HSA or FSA. Questions to ask your insurance company.

What is a superbill?

A detailed receipt for your sessions, with the dates, fees and information insurance companies usually ask for. You submit it to your insurer yourself.

How can I pay?

Cash, check, Venmo, or your HSA or FSA (Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account) card.

How long is a session?

50 minutes.

When are appointments available?

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 1 to 5 pm.

Where is your office?

7215 Lebanon Rd, Suite C, Mint Hill, NC 28227. It’s convenient to Charlotte and Matthews.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes, by video call, for clients who live in North Carolina. More about telehealth.

I live outside North Carolina. Can I see you by telehealth?

I’m licensed in North Carolina, so telehealth is only for North Carolina residents.

How do telehealth sessions work?

Sessions are held by secure video call. When it’s time, just tap Join Session on this site. You’ll need a private, quiet place and a phone, tablet or computer with a camera.

Do you see children and teens?

Yes. I counsel children ages 10 and up, teens and parents, as well as adults and couples. Call to talk about what’s going on, and we’ll decide together how to start. More about child, teen and parenting counseling.

Do you see couples?

Yes. Marriage and relationships, including premarital counseling, are a core part of my work. The fee is the same for couples as for individuals. More about marriage counseling.

What happens at the first session?

We’ll get to know each other and talk through your story and your goals, including how you’d like faith to be part of counseling. It’s normal to feel nervous; there’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready to.
